Mental Ray Production Library – mip_motionblur
Continuing on my previous post Mental Ray Production Library– Enabling mip Shaders .We can now start exploring the available new nodes.
In this session we will have a closer look at the mip_motionblur and how to use it to speed up our render time when using motion blur.

thanks for the tutorial, but how does this work in Maya2010? I used the mel file from your blogsite. Installation etc. works fine and shaders are there, but when manually trying to connect the mip_motionblur to the camera there´s no miOutputShader in the mentalRayControls where I could plug the message output into.
any ideas? thanks in advance

Sorry for my english, but how I can get fake motion blur in reflections?

mip_motionblur can not produce reflection. the way it’s made it has to look at the moving objects . not the reflection
if you need the reflection while using the mip_motionblur, you have to move the reflecting object itself.
in this image you see you can get interesting result as I moved the reflecting floor in a different direction than the moving sphere.
