Objects appear transparent in Mudbox
When importing an object into mudbox, sometimes parts of the object will appear transparent .
![]()
This is due to the fact that your object has flipped Normals.
You can check that in Mudbox by Right Mouse Button Click on the view and choose “show both sides”

To fix this, the object has to be properly exported out of the original 3d application.
For example in Maya
Select the object and choose Normals > Conform, this will make all the Normals face the same direction.
![]()
Before exporting the object, select it one more time and choose
Display > polygon > face Normals
Make sure that the Normals are facing outwards.
![]()
Now when you import that object ,it will look as expected.
